"Waiting On" Wednesday #11: Stars Above by Marissa Meyer

More  Lunar Chronicles  could not come at a better time! The end is nigh people and hearing that Marissa Meyer is going to do her best to expand upon the universe even if it means only the addition of shorts in an anthology featuring already been published  short stories  elsewhere, I still am beyond pleased. As one of the many who read her  extras  on wattpad, knowing I can finally have them all plus new words in a compilation, a physical book... isn't that brilliant news?! Who's hurrahing with me?! #TopTenTuesday: Ten Characters Who Belong on the Stage

Oh hey look at this... a top ten list featured on The Broke and The Bookish that won't leave me gutted if I accidentally leave someone off. Woohoo. Pretty excited about this grouping too because well... I was able to think of a lot right off the bat without a lot of overthinking. Okay... maybe a little overthinking because I only chose characters that I thought would be awesome in live theater but were not performers in their fictional universes. So without further ado... 1) Emily of New Moon ~ yeah... I know Anne of Green Gables probably should be on this list, but seriously, I have always adored Emily slightly more than Anne and if ever a fictional character was destined for the stage, it's her! 2) Daphne Bridgerton from the Duke and I ~ well... she does maintain a ruse very, very well and Simon totally buys it while falling in love with her but she's got that sparkle and mischief and penchant for pretend that would make her an amazing actress for the stage.

"Waiting On" Wednesday #2 ~ Winter by Marissa Meyer

Did anyone doubt my choice would come around to this very awesome book now that the cover reveal has gone live and I have had a chance to read the excerpt? No? Good. Alrighty then. DETAILS: Publisher:  Feiwel and Friends Publishing date:  November 10, 2015 Author:  Marissa Meyer Series:  Final Installment of the Lunar Chronicles Goodreads  ~  Amazon  ~  B&N  ~  Twitter  ~  Website   My argument for why WINTER should be on your "Waiting On" Book Pile. Scarlet pressed her body against the steel bars, straining to grasp the tree branch that dangled just outside her cage. Close —  so close . The bar bit into her cheek. She flailed her fingers, brushing a leaf, a touch of bark —  yes ! Her fingers closed around the branch. She dropped back into her cage, dragging the branch closer. Wriggling her other arm through the bars, she snapped off three leaf-covered twigs, then broke off the tip and let go. The branch swung upward and a cluster of tiny, un

BOOK REVIEW: Cress by Marissa Meyer

Right on schedule for my second book read in 2015, although I do not think that I will be able to keep up this pace once the kiddos are back in school and I go about actively trying to get a new job (preferably by Barnes & Noble)! Oh the joys of pounding the pavement while attempting to chauffeur the kiddos everywhere they need to be. The kitties have their wellness check-up and shots this week so they're going to just LOVE me after that visit, but what can you do? Someone has to be the villain, yeah?! Speaking of villains, has the Lunar Chronicles got one that's ever so frighteningly mysterious. I truly loathe Queen Levana and yet... her own childhood played a huge part in shaping her into the monstrous manipulator that she is in Cinder, Scarlet and Cress . In fact, she seems downright mild in nature in comparison to her two advisors -- Thaumaturge Aimery Park and Thaumaturge Sybil Mira -- in this book, Cress . TITLE:  Cress  AUTHOR(S): Marissa Meyer
