However, I am jumping back into the this blogging business on my own again. Which means, making the most of these kind of  memes. In trying to keep with a bookish theme, I modified today's Top Ten Tuesday so that all the sites I listed feature literary gifts, but aren't necessarily sites that sell books. I do not have time nor do I believe it to be scientifically possible to read all the books my brain tells me I should read. Here are the top ten books from 2015, that I really hope to read one of these days. #1 --> Winter by Marissa Meyer must be read! I know, I know; but it's because "the end" books freak me out. No excuse, I know, since The Lunar Chronicles remain some of my favorite books to push onto others. #2 --> My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga shows up on all my favorite people's lists of must reads and so yeah... I really need to read this book even though... yet again I haven't! #3 -->  Uprooted by Naomi Novik   was  a book I really wanted to read. Actually purchased and then somehow ended up shuffled aside until viola! I have not read it yet. ...

Thanks to the  Broke and the Bookish  for hosting. My life lately has been controlled by sickness and in health issues... yes, my hubby had gastric bypass surgery and he's still recovering. I cannot believe how much weight he has lost but he's struggling to make the changes necessary to stay healthy now that he's missing three quarters of his stomach. I, of course, came back from NY Comic-Con with strep which transitioned into pneumonia and just overall when I was down, I couldn't get back up again. It happens. Music tells the story we so frequently feel is boring. Y'know what I mean? For now though, I am back and determined to do better this year! So yeah... how about that resolutions' list?! You all up for 2016 yet? Can you believe I'm starting out the year with a sinus infection. No? Me neither. #1 --> Read more books that have been on my shelf for years and I desperately want to read but let ARCs and blogging duties take precede...

However, school is kicking my butt as well as a bad reaction to having my eyes dilated yesterday for an eye exam. The migraine set in half way through the day and ugh... anyone who has migraines knows what a pain they are. 1. Pride & Prejudice [all of them!]  From Greer Garson to Keira Knightley to Jennifer Ehle to Bride & Prejudice: the musical - they all are ever so fun and romantic and likable 2. The Maze Runner  I did not like this series. However, the films have managed to pull the best parts of the story, which kept me reading despite not really connecting on a relatable level to the characters. This cast is so cute too!  3. Do some of these topics just seem too difficult when you first read them, but as you start thinking about it, you get on a roll and then hit a brick wall? That's how this week's Top Ten Tuesday went for me. So let's see if I can get to ten... hmmm. Michael from The Eye of Minds .  To be honest, this book turned me off to the rest of the series. James Dashner's style doesn't work for me and he tends to use a similar plot for each of his series. While I adore Dylan O'Brien and The Maze Runner movies, the source material for them very much irritated me, even though I did manage to read all three of them but not the prequel. Which is my long way of saying, I read The Eye of Minds , did not click with the main character and was completely turned off of the series. These ten short stories prepare you for upcoming bestsellers, because of course when September rolls around, the publishing industry scrambles to get their "best chance of the next big thing" on shelves or pushed madly into winter promotions. The Frankfurt Book Fair also, takes place the beginning of October every  year and it is the place to be if you want to sell foreign rights and build some buzzy anticipation around novels that are hot in the USA, which is why, these short stories should find their way onto your e-reader. They are short and sweet and not so subtle in their attempts of drawing the reader in before the next installment of the books they're tied to come out.  If I were doing an overview lit class or more likely a workshop, I would include these short stories since they all provide examples of how to pull readers into a fandom without giving away too much of the story. Have any of you noticed the same names tend to show up every week? Rainbow Rowell has not written one thing that I have not fallen in love with nearly immediately. So yeah, anything and everything... I own all her books including the anthologies she has written for and will continue to buy her books unabashedly. Garth Nix is most excellent and I have adored him for a very, very long time. He has written one of my favorite heroines - Sabriel! My daughter and son adore his books as well which makes him a fantastic addition to this list. Jonathan Stroud snuck up on me. I have a tendency to read all the books in a series whether I like the later books or not.
