BLOG TOUR: A Sorrow Fierce and Falling by Jessica Cluess
SYNOPSIS:
Magic, romance, and heart-pounding action bring the final book in the Kingdom on Fire series to a shocking and satisfying close. Justine Magazine says, “A pinch of Potter blended with a drop of [Cassandra Clare’s] Infernal Devices.”
It’s time for war.
After suffering terrible losses, Henrietta and Lord Blackwood have led their warriors to Sorrow-Fell, a vast estate where only those invited by a Blackwood may enter–and the ideal place to plan a final assault against the Ancients.
It’s time for a wedding.
Henrietta nervously awaits her marriage to Blackwood, but when the ritual to become his bride reveals a dark secret, she realizes that Sorrow-Fell is not a safe haven; it’s a trap. Convincing the sorcerers of this, however, is not easy. So with Maria, the true chosen one, and Magnus, the young man who once stole her heart, at her side, Henrietta plots a dangerous journey straight into the enemy’s lair. Some will live. Some will die. All will be tested.
In this stunning conclusion to the Kingdom on Fire series, Henrietta must choose between the love from her past, the love from her present, and a love that could define her future. While battles rage, the fate of the kingdom rests on her decision: Will she fall or rise up to become the woman who saves the realm?
It’s time for Henrietta to make her stand.

REVIEW:
Jessica Cluess completes her vibrant The Kingdom on Fire series with an ending most of us were expecting, and I can admit its predictability hurt the characterizations of certain characters that I would've preferred more depth for; ultimately though, A Sorrow Fierce and Falling gave me the romance I wished most to see.
One of the most brilliant bits about A Sorrow Fierce and Falling is how everything comes together thrillingly from the start and just keeps culminating event after event for a quick, intense read. Henrietta remains steadfast and loyal to the ones she loves and it makes her quite likable. She comes across as down to earth still and while her life circumstances changed drastically, she takes her responsibility seriously and all encompassing; unwilling to leave no person outside her protection. She might not be the "chosen one" but she will do her best to make certain no one suffers because of her mistakes, her ignorance. These traits make her a worthy adversary to those oh so familiar villains. And even if plotting doesn't feel as twisty and bendy as I would like it, I am here for Henrietta and her happily ever after.
A darn good finale to a very welcome sort of heroine, A Sorrow Fierce and Falling deserves a spot on any YA lovers' must read list.
